The Writing Palette is a learning journey into the craft of the great authors.

 

10 key pieces of punctuation and figurative language are explored through dynamic interactive learning activities using PageTiger, the award-winning digital platform.

 

Each of the ten areas of The Writing Palette starts with clear and concise explanations of how authors use punctuation and figurative language.

 

At the end of each learning area, there are a series of tiered challenges that move up three levels. There are 33 challenges in total.

 

The Writing Palette is designed to be accessible to all students. Its three-stage approach allows learning to be smooth and incremental.

 

Level 1: Understand: The focus of this level is to make sure the learner clearly understands how punctuation and figurative language are used.

 

Level 2: Embed: These sessions allow learners to reinforce their understanding of punctuation and figurative language so that it starts becoming a natural way of expressing themselves.

 

Level 3: Create: The activities in this level look to encourage learners to engage creatively and imaginatively with their use of punctuation and figurative language.

 

Learning is quickly revealed as all activities are sent via the student's choice of email. These can be quickly turned into documents to be placed in a portfolio of learning as evidence of their progress through The Writing Palette.
